Why would thier tip be any different at Christmas than any other time of year?

Why would you ever even see the mailman, he stops by your mailbox for 2 minutes while you're at work.

UPS/Fedex
At least thse guys come to the door. I guess you could tip them.

Garbage pickup
You gonna get up at 5:00AM on thursday morning and run outside in your robe to give the guy $3?

Our Sunday paper costs $7.90 per month delivered. I mailed the carrier a check for $20 last December.

I always give good tips to the woman that cuts my hair. She's very much in-demand and I always seem to wait too long before trying to make an appointment. She's worked me in many times. ;)

The only special "holiday time" tipping I do, would be the paper delivery guy.

When I was a kid delivering papers I never got any tips except for at Christmas, even then hardly any maybe $20 total. Other carriers who had different routes all got much more - around $100

I have no idea why, I was very good and reliable :(

And why would you even think about tipping a Postal worker?? Nothing against them, but that is a federal job...

I thought it was obvious. So they don't... well umm... go postal. :D

I give mine $10. Real nice ones I had in the past got as much as $40-50 from me. My current one isn't so outstanding. I also give $20 to the office cleaner lady. I always stay late in the office and see her.
I also am a little more generous with my dining tips for great service. Generaly I tip 20% of the check anyways but great service will get as much has 40% from me near Xmas. Last night I ate out and gave the girl $20 out of a $50 check. Its worth it to see then light up after a long night.

Thats what I was thinking, since we moved in in April, ours have been excellent, you could put a dead body out at the curb and they'd take it away ;)

I don't think we ever have the same waste removal employees for more than 4 weeks at a time. It could be costly to tip someone who wont be around very long. Maybe that is just my area?

Mailman: Gets homemade cookies. He knows half of my family by name.

Schoolbus driver: Also homemade cookies.

Garbage pickup: Basket of fruit. We've had the same people for the last 8 years.

Fedex: Swift kick in the @$$ for not leaving packages at the back door like they are told.

UPS: Swift kick in the @$$ for never being on time.
