Who do you think will replace Roloson in the Stanley Cup Finals?

Yeah... new thread... for poll 🙂...

So... since Roloson is out for the rest of the Stanley Cup Finals for the Edmonton Oilers, it's all up to Ty Conklin (who didn't really have a good chance to prove himself in game #1) or Jussi Markkanen... Since Morrison wasn't chosen to be in the playoffs for the Oilers.

So... in your opinion... Who will take the starting role of goalie?

Dunno if repost. so oops 🙂.

I'm still not convinced Roloson has played all that spectacularly. I think it's more about the guys in front of him forcing shots from the outside and blocking shots. You are acting like Roloson didn't blow a 3-0 lead (4 straight goals) before he got hurt there in game 1. So I think the series is far from over and as long as edm continues playing a strong t**p they have a chance to win any game.

Well by the 3rd period you pretty much figured he's screwed by allowing goal after goal after goal...

Go Canes!

DIAF! 😛

I think MacT will put Conkin in net again , but i'd personally like to see Markkanen there...ah well.

Really, we still have a great chance to win.
Just need to get the split in Raleigh & come here to win a couple 😉

Series - Over.

Oilers will lose, I was rooting for them too. Rollie is what kept the Ducks at bay, and I image he would have been the difference in this series, as he is not there anymore the Canes will take the cup. Makes me sad 🙁

I'm thinin Markkanen

Just cause Conklin had a psychological letdown, he has a winning record 29-17
but that was tough he was already trying to figure out where he had parked the car when he got dumped in that game.

He can do it he's a pro and Edmonton was doing much better before Roloson came in at the trade deadline. Roloson almost got them tossed out of the playoffs because he was losing everything in regular season but before that they were 1 or 2 in the division so Edmonton is a better team than you think.

I'd love for them to come out with a split tonight but it isn't over

Even if Conklin is the better goalie, he's a broken shell of a man after that goal.

I don't blame him one bit for what happened, getting thrown into a Stanley Cup game with 6-odd minutes left after not playing since sometime in April? Sh!tty deal for him, honestly its not just a matter of whether or not he will get back in this series, its a matter of whether or not he will ever be back to where he was in his career...

Roloson has been playing great, and is one of the reasons the Oilers are still in it.
He didn't blow the lead, his team did, by letting Carolina get a few odd man rushes and a breakaway. There wasn't much rollie was going to do in thoes cases. The oilers blew the play LARGE at least twice which directly resulted in a goal. They got caught deep in their own end out of position and made bad plays at the blue line. The rest of the team is directly to blame.

They will swtich between the two for the rest of the series because I don't think either of them will find a good groove. Unless a miracle happens, which are common in the finals, the Oilers are done.

OK
I called it 🙂
Now post game review
Wow Edmonton penalty killing which was rock solid sure is proving to be ineffective this series.
So Edmonton, no more undisciplined penalties please they are kicking your arse on it

Edmonton... has no chance if they keep playing like they did in game 2...

Markkanen got OWNED because of the poor defense.

I guess I'll weigh in, albeit briefly. I do most of my hockey posting on edmontonoilers.com, come on over any time guys.

Well, the Canes did what they were expected to do, which is win both games in their barn. I would expect nothing less from a #2 seed in the East, especially since the Oilers had such good fortunes against the listless Wings in round 1. The odds of having your way with another top-seeded team like the Canes is astronomical.

I think it is *possible* the Oilers can take both games at Rexall (I'm keeping it real here, I truly believe they WILL do it, but let me just say it is merely a possibility at this point).

Too bad for Jussi, he played well last game and was left hung out to dry by the Oilers D.

Tomorrow night should be interesting. Can't wait to see how the game unfolds.

Cam Ward is spectacular, and he's playing in his hometown - with 40+ family members there to watch. I don't think he will play any worse - probably slightly better. If the Oilers can get some ugly goals and start playing better team defense, they could get a win and turn this into a series.

GO OILERS
