What happens if a guy pretends to talk on a cell phone while driving, gets pulled over and ticketed, protests the ticket and goes to traffic court, then proves he really wasn't talking on it through phone logs... does he win? Does he??

after I win the lotto and have abso-fucking-lutely nothing to do all day, I'm going to try that.

When I worked nights at Hynix I'd go out mid-week during the day. Was amazed at how many people dont work or dont work a normal day. Was also amazed how many kids in Oregon cut class on a regular basis. Might explain their horrid grades and graduation rates.

Would also explain the number of people filling up the roads at 10:45.

Both of you are functionally illiterate.

"The only reason I notice they are on their phones is because they are driving way slow, swerving, or just generally being asshats."

I can read, I can also read into what the OP really means.

I usually drive around with my phone hooked up to the aux port in my stereo, listening to pandora. Any phone call I get is routed through my stereo for hands free calling.

Android 2.1 and 2.2 will just route you to his house. I think 3.0 will divert you to the nearest mental health facility.

And it isn't any different than talking to someone in the passenger seat. Actually, it's probably safer than that because talking to someone in the car sometimes involves taking your eyes off the road and looking at the person you're talking to...

Let's ban talking to people in the passenger seat!!!!!

Yes it is different. While talking to a passenger, there are two sets of eyes on the road. Also, people tend to talk less during stressful driving situations. Studies have shown this.
Dude who wrote article was on NPR yesterday, was quite informative.
