Lol, there is a entire body of psychological studies that show that even when people say and believe that they make decisions based on a rigorous and "objective" hierarchical evaluation of the evidence, they often do nothing of the damn sort, and simply go with their pre-existing and highly subjective leanings . . . their "gut", if you will.
