Stevie cuz I lean more twards blues and slowness. it's all good though and both too short with us.

vaughn isnt even in the same arena as Hendrix. Vaughn was very good, but he made his name on rehashing the hendrix style . His blues was already stagnant at the time of his death.Hendrix was headed in a direction of awesome inventiveness and uniqueality.

Jimi was one of the greatest pioneers of guitar playing. Every time he picked up a guitar, something totally new came out and it was all good.

Stevie developed the style of Jimi and created a tone that is a huge influence to modern guitar players.

Hendrix.

But that in no way negates my love for Vaughan.

Vaughan was cleaner, but Hendrix was by far more innovative and revolutionary.

Hendrix but no doubt I am biased by my age. I clearly remember the first time I heard Stevie Ray Vaughan thinking who the hell is that, it sounds like Jimi Hendrix.

SRV was more talented. No one attacked a solo like him. He could easily cover all areas of melody, lead, rhythm with flawless technique and soul. He truly was the best guitar player I have ever heard. He was a master.

Hendrix by a long shot. SRV was a great guitarist and influenced many players, but modern guitar playing simply wouldn't be where it is without Hendrix.

I really like SRV, he pretty much perfected his style, but Hendrix was the man. But I don't think you can really compare them. Although SRV paid homage to Hendrix with a lot of cover songs, I don't think that is what defined his style, as you can listen to alot of other SRV songs and they dont' sound anything like something Hendrix would have written. Texas Flood doesn't sound anything like Electric Ladyland.
