Who do I contact for questions about marrying someone?

I've been an ordained minister through universal life Church for years, yesterday a family member called and wants me to marry them. I know I have to fill out paperwork, but who do I contact to get more info? The county that they're getting married in?

Why would you ask here? You are not going to get a serious answer. You should just consult an attorney or the head minister etc..

If you are going to marry someone, the first person to contact is that person.

Unless you are really traditional, in which case you could start with her (his?) father.

Are you sure that you are still legally ordained? I just did a search on your church, and came up with a website for your "church". I think that you could do this too. I don't expect that a CPA would post here, asking how to get tax forms for legally complete a customer's taxes. But you never know.

What do I get with my ordainment?
All new ministers, NOT IN PRISON, get a ministers handbook and a certificate with their name and date of ordainment typed on it.
I guess the big question I have for our golden member Elevenpog is, are you currently in prison? I expect you'll start another thread on what you should say in your sermon.

Only retards get caught. I'm not in prison. I just found my certificate, and I carry my wallet card on me, I've been a minister since 8 Dec 2013. I got it because I was watching this show called extreme cheapskates and this lady was ordained, and I thought "I wonder how you get ordained?" and then 10$ later I was ordained!

I charge 100$ to officiate a wedding, 50$ if it is open bar. I also will make a guest appearance at birthdays, funerals, baptisms, or any other event. So hit me up if you are interested.

And yes, I will definitely make a post here in a few months about what to say at the wedding, you guys always have good advice.

You should visit the website and read everything they have to offer. I pity the couple that you marry, only to find out they aren't really married, because you didn't do everything legally required. By the way, here is a helpful hint for advertising. Only $5 plus shipping and handling.

Congrats on staying out of prison. Make sure you report to your probation officer at required intervals.

My marriage was performed by someone ordained by ULC, and the state seemed to think it was acceptable. Feds didn't come after me for tax fraud either. Logically, I must conclude that you're talking out of your ass. Have a nice day ():)

Can I test your skills, OP? :D

Who did Jesus cast demons out of?

We don't specify which religion we are a part of here at the Universal Life Church. If you want me to preach about a flying spaghetti monster I'd be happy to oblige. The 100$ fee still remains obligatory however.

You've probably proved me right just from that statement to begin with.
