George W. Bush, for lowering the terrorism in the world, for removing a corrupt and war mongering dictator in Iraq, for going after terrorists in Afghanistan.

"the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses" - Alfred Nobel

That does not sound like the creator of Twitter. Twitter, at best, is simply a tool.

Ghandi. Don't put him in now though because that'd put him on the same playing field as Jimmy Carter, Al Gore, and Obama.

Any of the other nominees who did not win this year.

# Chinese Human Rights Activist Hu Jia - imprisoned for campaigning for human rights in the PRC, not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama.
# Wei Jingsheng, who spent 17 years in Chinese prisons for urging reforms of China's communist system. -- not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama. (Not to mention the symbolic value of awarding a Chinese dissident on the 20th Anniversary of the Tianenmen Square Massacre.)
# Greg Mortenson, founder of the Central Asia Institute has built nearly 80 schools, especially for girls, in remote areas of northern Pakistan and Afghanistan over the past 15 years - not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama.
# Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, a philosophy professor in Jordan who risks his life by advocating interfaith dialogue between Jews and Muslims, also not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama.
# Afghan human rights activist Sima Samar. She currently leads the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission and serves as the U.N. special envoy to Darfur and is apparently also not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama.

Does Jesus have one? I bet he'd like a Nobel Peace Prize. The committee can just say he didn't come forward to claim it so they can pocket the money.

seriously?

he doesn't have one?

http://nobelprize.org/nobel_pr...cles/gandhi/index.html

Didn't a bunch of Indians needlessly die because he wanted independence? Isn't India a shithole now because the British left?

He advocated peaceful rebellion, nonviolent resistance. He spoke against all his contemporaries who wanted to rebel violently.

I think he swayed a lot of people, but some people you just can't convince. He advocated peace, but he wasn't happy with the status quo of the British occupation and rule of India.

He deserved a Nobel prize, I think.

I know you're not serious, but Jesus didn't care either for the prestige or money from human authorities.

That's fucking retarded, it was the USERS of Twitter who did the work.

And even they really aren't qualified by that to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.

Actually twitter did do that for the Iran election. Iranians were connected with people all over the world. If you think of fraternity between nations as being between the people of those nations, then yes, twitter did that.

Twitter is not a person, and Twitter did not do any work.
