who carries a pager?

I do for work, once they got me confused with a doctor at the hospital...that was irritating...calling ER and telling them they paged the wrong person.

Should had told them you will be right there and see who gets fired.

Uh, yes, a voice pager no less. I swear the VHF voice paging system we use is older than my 31 years, but the county has no money to replace it, so as long as it works, i have to carry the dammed thing. Luckily, mine's a normal size pager. My boss had to have his replaced and the thing is friggen' huge, looks almost like a 80's walkman.

I used to at work. I was an equipment technician in a semiconductor fab. We got automated pages from the computer any time a machine went down. It was actually pretty convenient, and they last over two weeks with a single AA battery.

the lulz would be more important than some dude dying.

When I call people on their cell phones I sometimes get a message if you would like to page this person press 5, so I think they can page using the phone.

I know a number of doctors who still do. They prefer to be bothered via a page that they can call back on their own terms instead of having their cell phone or cell conversations interrupted.

I think it sends a text to the cell when you do that.
