It'd be 300 bucks for a DVD player that doesn't have a remote, component video out (I don't think) and a lot of other features that a 200 dollar DVD player does come with. Bleh.
I'm looking around the Sony site for tech specs, to little avail. On the other hand, I did find some mediocre looking remotes for 20 bucks list. I stand corrected, the last time I took a look at it (March), I saw no mention of the remotes.
I am getting sick of hearing about the PS2. I saw it at the GDC and there was nothing about it to make me want to pay more than $300 for it. There are only about 3 good games out for it. I can wait until after Christmas. If it was the X-Box, then maybe I could justify spending $400-$500 but barely. Actually, no. I still cant justify it.
I'd just like to know what's with it being tray load? Why not just use a trayless design, especially since it's on it's side. Oh well, I still think 300 bucks is way too much for it, but I guess there were hundreds of lemmings waiting to throw down their money for it this morning.....
I think it's the biggest breakthrough of overpriced console underperformance on the market. I just wanna hook up my dv cam into the firewire and find a use for it, after I plug in my microsoft usb mouse.
The only thing that is funnier than the black market prices is the chumps that got up at 4 in the morning to stand in line at target, best buy, etc... to buy one....
