Yea except you'd probably say it wasn't true for you, I'd say it wasn't true for me and the poster who made the comment probably doesn't think its true for him. Yet it is "for the most part" true. Ahuh, for these imaginery people we all like to assume post here.

n00b has been around since mIRC back in the early/mid 90s. Of course it was spelled differently back then "newbie" and "newb". If you weren't around back then and don't remember....it's ok. We know who you are.

I suppose the n00b could be considered an abbreviation of newbie, but it's not an acronym by any stretch of the imagination.

no offense dude but you have been a part of this forum for like 6 weeks, that makes you a newb. Give it a few years and it'll wear off....maybe sooner if you quit posting crap like this.

And what the hell kind of acronym has zero's in it? I could see NEWB being and acronym. Maybe like Nerdy EntarWeb Baby....well that's a bad example, but you get the idea.

Wow. Until now I didn't believe in the existance of idiots who would use the term "intarweb" yet:
a) don't know what an acronym is AND
b) don't like the respelled abbreviation of "newbie" as n00b

Now, I know at least one such idiot exists.

I assumed it was elite(check that-elite) acronymn for something?

Noob = Newbie = New Boy = n00b :D

p.s: be careful when you use the word noob, it's sexist :p

I think you mean IRC, not mIRC. I also think it was around before then, probably started on Usenet.

Since you joined this morning? I think that's something all n00bs say to fit in easier.
