I'm looking for a GOP to vote for. I'm a GOP voter waiting to happen. But I promise if Palin is the GOP nominee I will vote for Obama just so she isn't elected.

If we were in a thriller novel this might actually be true 🙂

Jon Huntsman seems less dim, nutty and flip-flopping than the rest of the candidates, but that might be why he's at the bottom of the pack. I haven't followed him too closely since he has no chance at the nomination, but what little I have read about him makes him seem like the best of the bunch.
 
I'm not that concerned with the Presidency, as long as the GOP maintains a large margin in the House and takes control of the Senate in 2012 we should have at least 2 more years of gridlock, probably 4.

No offense bro but Huntsman is a offshoring, cheap labor, disciple/enabler that has so many Americans as tax recipients instead of tax payers. No thanks. we need less smooth talkers from RNC/DLC and more pugnacious truth tellers like Dean imo.

Clue for you:

It's about policies that are plutocratic versus policies that are good for the public at large.

A wealthy person can support either, and a poorer person can support either.

When millionares come out for raising taxes on millionares, they may be wealthy but they're supporting the '99%' policies. And vice versa when poorer people like oppose them.

The current GOP offering of candidates for US President most pathetic group of all time. Let's give a break down.

Newt Gingrich - He will never be president and this guy is another senile old neo-conservative clown who puts his foot in his mouth every 5 minutes.

Herman Cain - One of the better candidates but his image from the start was tarnished as a nutty fringe candidate, which he could be.

Michele Bachmann - A Sarah Palin rehash? Yawn

Mitt Romney - Actually the most qualified candidate, but he will not get elected because he is a Mormon.

Rick Perry - A governor from Texas? No thanks, that didn't go so well last time.

I don't know enough to comment about the rest of the candidates except for Ron Paul, which I support, but he will not get elected because of his very out of the ordinary views. His son Rand though is going to be the future of the GOP part, IMO.

So GOPers, who is going to step up? This is the most disappointing group of candidates I have ever seen in my short adult life.

It would take a weak economy with high unemployment for someone like Ms Bachmann or Rick Perry to win the POTUS. There is still about 11 months before the election is locked in so there is plenty of time for something to happen.

Ok... its time for someone, man or woman, to run as "the naked candidate".
Preferably someone very good looking and in incredible shape.
Someone we would look forward to watch on TV.
Someone that could say anything they want, and no one would remember what they said.
Because...? Hey, that candidate is actually naked!

Debating Obama? Not one person would remember what Obama was talking about.
We would only remember "the naked candidate" after every televised debate.

Everyone else has had their shot at it. So why not "the naked candidate"?

I never said he wasn't. But of the "front runners" the GOP is offering he is the only one that isn't stupid, insane, a combination of the previous two or changes their political view whenever it is expedient.

I can discount him in the general even if he gets the nomination. Anyone but Romney and the GOP is in for an Obama landslide. The question is will they suck it in and field a mormon or turn into the middle east of US politics and let their religion stifle their success over and over again until they cease to matter.

2010 showed that the politicians of the "usual" and "electable" isn't necessarily the top quality we are looking for. The OWS crowd and the class warfare isn't going to help Obama, it will only divide us more and move independents away from him.

I am voting for anyone but Obama in our two party system. If he win's another term, we will be in for a wild ride...downward. The rabbit hole is even deeper, deeper than most realize, one step upward is better than three steps down.

I voted for Obama in 2008, but mccain won my state. So my vote didn't actually count toward electing Obama. Saying anybody but obama is kind of silly though. Look at the GOP field. Bunch of idiots letting things play out so they can have a nice vacation on the dime of donators... or go write a book and quit politics.

Obama showed us that if you think a new president is going to come in and simply fix things, you're wrong. That still holds true now... doesn't matter who gets elected in 2012. Many policies are irreversible and they are all owned by the same special interest groups.

The far right Christians have some very negative perceptions of mormonism; really, of anything except their own brand of christianity. The concern that they may vote for a third party instead of republican.
