who are these moderators with ultimate power on the forums? whats the process of becoming a moderator? im imagining an IM conversation like:

moderator: I've been watching you.
forum_user: It wasnt me! I swear!
moderator: You have some insightful posts.
forum_user: Yes. Yes I do (shifty eyes).
moderator: We are in the process of selecting a new moderator.
forum_user: I hear you're in the process of selecting a new moderator.
moderator: ...
moderator: I just said that.
forum_user: So you did.
moderator: The power of the moderator cannot be handled by mere mortal posters.
You must have the will to control it.
forum_user: I believe "I HAVE THE POWAA!
moderator: You have been chosen.
moderator: Do you accept or reject?
forum_user: Accept.

hmm. no offense, but for anybody to even have a chance requires a lot of time and effort wasted on these forums (let's be honest) and neither i nor you will become one anytime soon.
