I'm currently stuck at SFO airport. So even though I had absolutely no plans when people ask what I did I can say "I got stuck at the San Francisco airport." Although I can't really understand why anyone feels compelled to go get drunk in a crowded bar on New Years past the age of 25-30.
 
I'll be reading insurance fine print to see if the burglary I just discovered will cost me a lot of time and trouble, or a lot of time and trouble, and three laptops. It's really cheery being me tonight.

I'm right there with ya buddy. My friend took me to this "party" where it was a bunch of dudes playing Magic. I walked in they said "who invited this kid?" so I promptly turned around and left. Good f*cking riddance.

Still it sucks not doing jack sh*t tonight. 🙁

Why? I'm not young, but all the years I worked in a hotel has made me hate drunk people with a passion. I was invited to a couple parties, but being around a bunch of people drinking and being loud doesn't strike me as fun.

Regardless, later on tonight here, we are going to have freezing rain and sleet. So, that should make it even better to drive out there with the drunks...

You know...I've been there, done that and found that New Years is just a time to deal with overcrowding, double price drinks, and a lot of hype.

For the last several years I've stayed home with the wife and kids and played board games, made steaks, and let the kids drink some sparkling grape juice at midnight, and I feel like I've had more fun than going out.

That's just me though.

Can you not read? I had plans earier..but I'm now more glad that I'm going to be $75 richer, not including the price of overpriced drinks, parking, and having to deal with crazy drivers out on the road.

I went out earlier this weekend, and will out next weekend, and the weekend after that, etc..

In fact, this is the absolute worst time to go out if you're young and single.

Actually, I already went out tonight...

Every year the AHL hockey team I have season tickets to has a NYE game, and they have indoor fireworks to music afterwards...

Oh, and we won 3-0...

Just got off work and its drizzling. Only place I was considering was outdoors (to watch the pickle drop), so I'm staying in. Not the first time and won't be the last...
