I havent read a book since college but for some reason I have started being somewhat interested in reading but I have no clue what is good. I definitely do not want to ready something that has a show like Game of Thrones or a real super long read that is pretty dry. I would be interested in all kinds of books, what are some of the popular books/authors out now?

Currently readinga book about Bradley Manning. Haven't touch in a couple weeks.

On page ~240 of the Eye of the World, which I am reading regularly. Good fantasy is good.

Cisco ICND1.... I need to pass this shit ASAP and get to ICND before Sept. 30th! Don't think I'll make it. lol.....

I transitioned to audio books mostly, but I still read a couple books a month. One way I found to find good books is to look up top 10/100/whatever lists of books in genres you like. I think I've read at least the top 50 in every sci fi list I can find.

Edit: Also, don't be a stickler about the "now" part of your request. Many of the best books were written quite a while ago.

Although a few of his books have been made into TV shows, Dr. Seuss is a genius!

I'm too ADHD to read an entire book anymore. I have to read excerpts.

I love reading but I can't hardly stand to read books any more. I could go for some quality 100-300 page books/novellas, but there's so much crap to sort through, and fantasy has gotten to where every book has to be 700+ pages it seems like.

Do yourself a favor and pretend the series ends after book 3.

I read every day. What else am I going to do while on the throne?

I can't wait until I spend enough time taking a shit that I can get in quality reading time...

I have never liked reading because I am pretty slow(well maybe not slow, but I have to go back and re-read a lot cause my mind drifts off). However, a few years back I did read the Gaunts Ghosts series of Warhammer, and they were fantastic. I think Dan Abnett does a very nice job of describing war in books. Since then, I haven't read a book.

i haven't read a novel/story book since i was in highschool probably. the last book i "read" had to do with learning how to code for iOS, and it wasn't like i read it straight through. it was more of a work book, and i only made it like 1/3 the way through since that was all i needed for my app idea.

i'd much rather watch a movie than read a book. any movie version is better than the book version to me, since it can be finished in a much shorter amount of time and is just much more enjoyable to me. i just have trouble focusing when reading a book and i'm a slow reader. books just don't keep my attention.

Very very rarely anymore. No time. There are a million things I'd rather be doing.

Never willingly read a long book until I was in my late 20s. Read tons of articles on the internet (yes, news stuff). I read about a book a year now.

I hadn't really read since middle school. 4-5 years ago I picked up The Smartest Guys in the room. Last year I actually read the Hunger Games series, I REALLY liked them, they were free on Amazon Lending Library, I was literally glued to the boks. Now I've read or listened to 3 of the Game of Thrones books. I'm waiting on the audio book of Feast For Crows now.

I'm reading John Dies at the End by David Wong but it's slow going. Before this I read Life After Death by Damien Echols, one of the West Memphis Three. After this I want to read Ready Player One.

The writing is a bit too advanced for me, but the pictures are cool.

I used to read tons, but the internet's killed my attention span. I have tons of books I've picked up, but haven't gotten around to reading :^/

Yeah, I don't read books anymore either. Last one I finished was over two years ago. I've started a couple since then, but I always eventually put them down and forget about them. It takes me months to read anything.

I tried audio books, but it doesn't stick or something. I listened to a few sci fi short story podcasts, but I found myself totally confused as to what was actually going on partway in.
