1) i usually don't eat too much because it can get expensive.
2) my carb intake is naturally limited because of preference (i don't like rice & bread).
3) i rarely eat fast food because my gf hates it.

so luckily for me--i don't have to watch what i eat. but like everyone else--i still have to force myself to excercise.

Alright, then my next question is what are normal portion sizes for those of you who actually watch what you eat?

Cause it seems like some people eat abnormally small portions...

I usually eat a piece of meat about the size of my palm, a bunch of veggies and maybe a potato and/or salad.
I avoid going back for "seconds."

You almost forget what it feels like to be "full" as opposed to "stuffed" and it takes a week or two to get used to it again. But once you start, you realize how much it sucks to feel sick because you ate so damn much.

That's not so bad...I'll see dudes that will eat like a hot dog or 2 slices of pizza and I'm always like is that enough and they're like no but I don't want to get fat...

I tell you it's all about working out regularly cause when I stop working out I think I actually gain weight but when I'm working out I eat like twice as much and never gain weight...

Exercising also keeps your metabolism up. Especially lifting.

Not at the moment, haven't gained a pound since the start of high school. Though I working on 22 now, arg, goodbye beautiful metabolism.

It seems like lately there's been this huge thing against fast food and everyone thinks its nasty when I go to Mcey d's or something. Do you guys actually 1. limit what you eat and try not to eat too much? 2. limit carb intake? 3. avoid fastfood or won't eat it?
Of course. I'll get too fat otherwise. I rarely eat fast food and if I do I'll generally opt for subway. Anything like mcdonalds/burger king is just not real food and should be eaten only when trying to really have some fun. In terms of actually going to a place like that for lunch on a regular day? Hell no - that's 3/4 of my daily calories in one meal.

I can't really believe that overweight/fat people actually go to places like this day in and day out and continue to abuse their bodies, but they do. I guess that's their choice though but I've made a different one.

Can you actually notice yourself putting on pounds if you don't eat right for awhile? Cause I ate fastfood and litlte juans burritos the whole last semester and I felt unhealthy but I didn't really put on any weight...when I stopped lifting my tone kind of went away but I don't think it was so much what I ate as much as I wasn't working out....

steaks, seafoods, chicken, vegies, basically i am an eaqual opportunity killer of foods.
i do draw the line at fastfood and i don't eat candy.
eat tons of calories a day, but don't count them or carbs or fat etc...

CrazyDe1... If I ate like you do, I'd weigh 300+ lbs easy.

That's what all my roommates say....the thing is one kid only has a gut cause he's got terrible posture and tries to stick it out...I told him if he lifted regularly or maybe didn't drink 10 beers 4 nights a week he'd be fine...but he seems to think that he's always going to have a gut cuase his dad does and he insists that when he was a cross country runner in high school he still had it....

A lot! It's not just food but also appetite. I've seen a lot of skinny people who "eat whatever they want whenever they want" and you watch them and they eat like once a day. I, on the other hand, am only truly satsified if I'm eating frequently, so if I find food from junky sources I'll eat over 4000 calories/day and it puts weight on.

Yep, I sit in front of the mirror, and make sure my mouth is open. So I can watch the food get chomped and swallowed

I don't count carbs, but I tend to balance carbs and proteins, and try to limit fat intake where possible. I also exercise regularly, and find that my weight is holding its own right now. I'm neither fat nor skinny, but I have a lot of muscle tone.

I try to but sometimes its hard. I'm in the gym a lot so I have more leeway than someone who doesn't workout at all.

*I say this but I just had a burger, frieds, and a coke for lunch* 🙂

I think I eat around 4000 calories a day...pretty much make a drunken taco bell run at 2AM 3 -4 times a week...on top of already large meals and snacking throughout the day...

It's rare to come accross a person who dosen't have to watch what they eat. I watch what I eat, but I take carbohydrate and fat blockers when I want sh*tty food with friends. That stops weight gaing to a point, but I feel like sh*t eating pizza, taco bell, burgers and whatnot. Raw vegetables, meal replacement shakes+bars and chicken are my main diet (I'm really lazy when it comes to food).

I simply can't eat breads, rice and potato based foods on a regular basis. In any case I used to weigh 350 pounds and I'm only about 210 now, without carb blockers Pizza would simply be out of the question.

At 4000 calories you are quite literally eating for 2 people, you may not be fat but i'll gaurantee you you're not as healthy as people who are in the gym and watch what they eat.
