Red wine almost exclusively, but if I am at a fancy restaurant I might have white wine if I am having fish or something, but that is pretty rare.

I've been enjoying the Rieslings this year, but they're on the sweet side.

I like both myself, depending on the food if out and about.

I used to like Riesling a lot but they are very sweet. Haven't drank any in a long time myself.

We usually stick to Sangria and Red wines, the wife is not a big drinker and she prefers that on the occasions we do drink wine.

How can you not like all white wines?

Theres like a bazillion different varieties!

Personally I like dry French whites (whereas I prefer Spanish reds), stuff like Pouilly Fume, Pouilly Fuisse or Chablis are always safe.

Then theres anything with fizz. You can get sparkling reds but, really, I wouldnt bother.

I'll just give you a like because I like you, but I've never been a fan of dry white wine myself.

I'd rather have a straight up dry Gin Martini with about 3 olives before that really :)

But I guess those were not all dry, I've never been a Pinot fan but it seems to have went mainstream years ago.

I could go for one or two of those! Might need a bit of a nap if I had more than that though!

Have a place just up the road here has pretty good Calamari and makes decent Martinis.

Used to go there and just eat one big appetizer and a couple Martinis on the patio at sunset now and then. The wife drives, I'm ready for a snooze myself after that :)

Yum! Although I think that I'd have the martinis first then the calamari with some dry white.

That sounds like a most excellent way to spend an evening!

white wine is indispensable for cooking a great deal of italian recipies, so it will never be absent from my pantry; red wine too, but it's only used to a number of long stews, which don't get made very often. As for drinking it (yeeuch) i'll happily have a bottle or two of the good stuff, red, but i'm not so keen on anything less than a brunello, which means no white wine. It's just that top quality white is just not that good for the money. If you want to look at great white wines, they will all be "liqueur" wines, such as Vin Santo.
