Members of the National Socialist Movement joined the Ku Klux Klan for an anti-immigration rally at Old City Hall on West Trade Street, but the counter-protesters outnumbered them at least five to one**

Instead of shouting, the protesters used squeaky toys, whistles, and noisemakers to drown out the amplified speeches** Many dressed as clowns**

When the speakers talked about “White Power,” the protesters sprinkled white flour** Another held a sign reading “Wife Power**”

They said they wanted to make a point that racism is ridiculous**

“The message from us is, you look silly,” said Lacey Williams, the youth coordinator for Charlotte’s Latin American Coalition** “We're dressed like clowns and you're the ones that look funny**”

This brought a smile to my face**

The white power people were outnumbered 5 to 1 according to the video and the counter protestors who dressed like clowns parodied the "white power" phrase with

"White Flower"

"Wife Power"

"Dwight Power"

Even better was that no arrests were made**

I fully endorse their right to counter the message these people had, but they should do it at a separate time, with their own rally, or at the same time in another nearby location, or perhaps best of all at the same location immediately FOLLOWING this rally** Then, explain why these people are wrong with coherent arguments, countervailing statistics, whatever**

I dislike people shouting down other people** It tells me a lot about whether there would be freedom of speech on the books if exclusively people like them were in power and always had been**

I disagree, free speech doesnt imply you get to say what you want without someone else getting to say what they want. If they wanted to say what they wanted without any counter protest they could have held it on private property.

This is simply two groups both exercising their rights, outrage not found.
