Piazza's been good but what have the Mets done? It almost seems like they're trying to outspend the Yankees and beat them at their own game. Just about all of their big free agents have been busts or just overrated and overvalued like Beltran.

Mets are stupid for signing a career .270 hitter who had one good postseason. I don't understand why sports franchises sign guys after just one good year.

yea..it happens all the time with just about every sport. The franchises figure the player is about to or has just hit his full potential and is about break out into a superstar. This happens every damn year.. I wonder who the next overpaid superstar will be. Not sure if there are any BIG free agents out there besides Paul Konerko and he's still not a superstar.
