but what if it was because the kid was being an obnoxious prick and the rabbit didn't wanna go near the kid? why is the family immediately jumping to the race conclusion? what if the person in costume is a fellow black person as well?

Based on the information in the article, none of that has been presented. And if it was true, why did Disney offer to compensate and request the family to sign a confidentiality agreement?

probably because they knew allegations like this would blow up in their face. hell we're talking about it right now and know nothing other than a 5 sentence article. remember, in america, you are guilty until proven innocent.

and $500 to disney is like a fraction of a penny to us.
 
It's good thing Disneyland's food court doesn't serve kool-aid, watermelon and fried chicken, or else we're gonna half a class action lawsuit against the company.

Exactly. Disney would rather settle for chump change than deal with bad publicity. It's part of doing business in the public, image is everything.
