White House to Push Gun Control

Brilliant move by Obama. Push gun control after Republicans take control of the house. This guy grow up under power lines or did grandma drop him on his head?

Anyways this is pointless. The laws were in place but they cant work if nobody reports the guy needed to be evaluated.
 
I've already stocked up but thanks. When he comes for my gun, I will shoot him because I know he won't have any!

What a couple bald faced lies. Gun control didn't have anything what so ever to do with the Giffords shooting, a lunatic did. I'm not worried about it, H.R. 308 has a whooping 65 sponsors, all dem, all the time.

Meanwhile, the National Rifle Association has stayed largely silent following the Arizona shootings. Asked about a specialized White House effort on guns, a spokesman for the powerful gun lobby declined to comment.

Yea, because they are largely becoming an ineffectual lobby group, more concerned with sportsmen, and hunters than actual firearms owners rights. Their name is fairly fitting though, Nation rifle association.

Actually, think about this for a minute.

You can actually SEE the Democrat gears shifting here from passing unpopular laws into re-election mode. Prior to them losing the house in a landslide, they frankly didn't give a single shit what the country was telling them it wanted. They demonstrated that quite clearly over and over again.

Now that they know they can't get any more of their own agenda passed, they've totally shifted gears. It started with the State of the Union. Obama's address shifted back onto nice safe ground - we need to spend less, blah blah blah blah. Never mind he's had two FULL YEARS to do it and hasn't bothered even once to actually work on shrinking the debt issues we face.

Now, however, he knows he's not going to make headway on any of the contentious points. Get ready for 2 years of flowery bullshit just like his presidential campaign. Not a damn thing will get done - he and the Democrats will make damn sure every bill they introduce that they don't actually want passed will contain a couple items in it that they know the "R's" will never vote yes for. Then you'll here the Democrats complain that the Republicans are being obstructionary.

The next two years will be a total loss while Obama starts his campaign for the next election.

He just spent the last two years ignoring government spending. Only a complete fucking moron is going to believe he suddenly got frugal. Likewise gun control. Now he can start trumpeting about it because he knows it'll never pass the house. And he'll blame it on obstructionism, and use it to win the anti-gun vote.
 
Leftists just don't understand. If you make it difficult or illegal to obtain guns legally, people will simply turn to illegal sources of guns. The traffic routes exist to smuggle drugs from Mexico...they'll just start adding guns to their cargo.

A world without guns simply makes the criminals more powerful. Criminals aren't going to care that the law says they aren't allowed to buy a gun...they're just going to buy one from someone else who doesn't care what the law says.
 
Well I can see why Republicans are against this. If you prevent mentally unstable people from acquiring guns, nearly all Republicans would be unable to buy a gun ever again! And the funny thing is, the Republicans in this thread are just proving me right!

Wow, you got a shotgun, good for you, that's the equivalent response of a bigot claiming he has a black friend ...so what? The legislature is aiming to ban high capacity magazines, which will do nothing to stop crime, or criminals from getting them. And why don't you think a law-abiding firearms owner should be able to own say ...a machine gun? Or even a suppressed machine gun?
