White House = liar liar pants on fire...

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/bronstein/detail?entry_id=87978&tsp=1

lol, don't you dare question or cross the great BHO lest he not let you do your job.

In a pants-on-fire moment, the White House press office today denied anyone there had issued threats to remove Carla Marinucci and possibly other Hearst reporters from the press pool covering the President in the Bay Area.

Chronicle editor Ward Bushee called the press office on its fib:

Sadly, we expected the White House to respond in this manner based on our experiences yesterday. It is not a truthful response. It follows a day of off-the-record exchanges with key people in the White House communications office who told us they would remove our reporter, then threatened retaliation to Chronicle and Hearst reporters if we reported on the ban, and then recanted to say our reporter might not be removed after all.

The Chronicle's report is accurate.

If the White House has indeed decided not to ban our reporter, we would like an on-the-record notice that she will remain the San Francisco print pool reporter.

I was on some of those calls and can confirm Ward's statement.

Messy ball now firmly in White House court.

I'm not sure I believe the SFGate, sounds like some tea bagger rag.

It's not 'the sfgate', it's the web site for the San Francisco Chronicle, a major American newspaper in the ballpark with the LA Times or the Chicago Tribune.

In this case, I believe the newspaper, and that the White House staff is misrepresenting what it did.

The modern press thrives on lies, damn lies, and statistics. If they want more credibility they'll just have to earn it. In the meantime, I certainly won't get involved in cock fight between them and politicians who are also infamous for lies, damn lies, and statistics. As far as I'm concerned they deserve each other.

Agreed. Doesn't matter who screws up and covers up, they all should get called on it and be held accountable.

Let's see them try that crap again.

Perfectly reasonable! I agree.

Theres so many legit things that critics can call the Obama administration on rather than focusing on where he was born or whether or not hes a Marxist. Let's elevate the discourse 😛.

And apparently most of our population likes to be lied to, as they keep getting their news from the same press and electing the same politicians.

One man's lie is another man's truth even when he knows its a lie. The people bought the damn mess and now its their problem as far as I'm concerned. They didn't just ask for, they didn't just fall for it, they demanded it.

That's less a problem with the voters than with the money in campaigns - the fact that elections are not based on voters knowing the candidates, but rather on advertising campaigns that create 'branding' only for those who take the money as having the only real chance to win.

That doesn't make the population 'like being lied to', but they don't fight a lot to reduce the role of money, either. Basically, citizen vs. marketing is not much of a match.

Putting aside this story and the lie told by the WH.

SFComical is hardly a major newspaper anymore. La Times and Chicago Tribune by far are more heavy weight hitters.

Bring on the communism news network.

Newspapers are so left-wing, only an indoctrinated fool would read one.

That's blind in every way.

WSJ. Washington Times. New York Post. Washington Examiner. San Francisco Examiner. the Independent. And a whole bunch of others.

None of the print media is truly liberal at this point, having bent themselves over backwards to establish a "business friendly" editorial position because they're desperate for advertising revenue.

Blind is too nice a word. Blind people don't run down the street screaming things that aren't true.

Fact is, we have more honest media, and more corrupted media, and the difference in readers is which ones know the corrupted media is corrupted.

Nearly all media has a pro-corporate bias, and when a bias permeates, it's invisible.

I fixed that for you.
