<< Was a person on the hood of the car when he hit the first time? Check that out >>
The hood appears to be folded-up near middle after impact.
I remember a friend taking me for a spin in his '70 T/A Challenger sporting a 440 six-pack pushing around 475HP. He punched it from a stand-still and the wild ride began...
We went straight as an arrow for 30 feet, tires spinning, then the rear-end started getting freaky. We went left, then right, then left again, then right again, narrowly missing the ditch on both sides, then we spun-around 180' and went 30 feet back the other way before coming to a stop. We laughed, we cried...we went home and changed our drawers.
That 440 big-block could build such a massive potential, with the crankshaft + harmonic balancer + torque converter keeping that energy (inertia) going, there was still enough HP being put out that it continued to power the car for a full 4 seconds after he took his foot off the accelerator. That's why real drag racers learn to finesse the brake.
