Well yeah, what he did was dishonest, but the only reason it would have worked is if the voters deserved what they got for falling for it. Also, for a 24 year incumbent to be voted out, I'm sure there was more to it than just the trickery of the fliers. The incumbent probably got a bit too comfortable and wasn't pleasing his constituents anymore.

How was it dishonest?? He just didn't make posts of his face anywhere to those in that community. Not that he was intentionally displaying someone else as himself. He never portrayed himself as something he wasn't. He just portrayed pleasing images along with his stance on the issue in his advertisements for his campaign. Not his fault the voters never took it a step further in that area to look up his face and his political affiliation before voting.
