Being white doesn't mean you're born with a silver spoon in your mouth, nor does it mean a job is waiting for you. Some old ex-KKK guy complains about discrimination, ok fine, that is pathetic - but that is not the same thing as say, my buddy Cameron being rated #2 in his EMT class, yet it's the 4 black guys in the back of the class with mediocre scores that get hired by the city almost immediately after the course was done. A profession where lives are at stake, seems to me the best qualified people should be the ones hired.

People who think whites aren't discriminated against, now that's pathetic. You, sir, smack of a rascist.

I agree. Its not fair that women and minorities are getting jobs handed to them over white males that are more qualified. I've also had something like that happen to me when other candidates who were way less qualified got jobs right away because they were female or black. The hardest thing is to be a white male and applying for a state/government job. Forget about it.

Am not sure I agree entirely.
Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines.

You do even one honorable year with them and you will always have priority for a Federal job. States probably give priority to state police and such, but I'm not positive on that.

I'm sure "other cities" will happily oblige you, as soon as you add another 43 exclamation points onto the end of that. Also... "should of gotten more". I think what you meant was "should have gotten more". Or what you should have meant. Ahhhh, life is good.

Yes, i understand my bad grammer. I was recently discriminated against in the hiring process in my city. This is nice to know that perhaps this will cause some change.
Cry me a river. WAHHHHH.

So now I'm a white racist who is racist against whites?

Damn tell that to my dad... or my mom... or maybe my friends... or my GF.

Since we are getting all emotional here: How about the black guy whos never had a chance and never will because he is stuck in the inner city and has had drugs pushed on him every day on his way home? I'd certainly give that guy the job if he was qualified. I have a family support structure, a nice house, a nice life, and all that jazz. I can rebound. He might not be able too. One thing I've also learned is that grades mean little as to how good you will be in the workforce. Money is a very powerful motiviating factor. Appeasing your biased professor/teachers viewpoint isn't.

Didn't you say you have a Indian uncle?

We all know that there are basically many institutions in America that say "White need not apply". They'll hire minorities even if they can't do the job right, just to be more "inclusive". There have been many cases where the minority they hired in place of a white was incompetant.

Should minorities be given a bit more consideration simply because they're a minority? If they can do the job correctly, then yes.

In a perfect world, we would not hire based on race or ethnicity.
There is no "whites not need apply" slogan anywhere.

As for small time discrimination against whites, I think its fine. In the socio-political context of America it makes sense. We have a horrible record and the position of many minorities is due to this. Give it another 10-20 years and then MAYBE we can discuss getting rid of AA.

As for my Indian uncle, what does he have to do with this? Indians get no bonuses and are discriminated against for their ability to get into good colleges. Rarely hear 'em complain.

Nice content. I guess you did not consider the OP's horribly written posts as whining. Did it ever occur to you or him that his spelling might be holding him back?

"We" have a horrible record? Since when is it right to punish the son for the crimes of his father?

If that isnt sarcasm then that is quite possibly the most bigoted, racist statement Ive ever seen in P&N.

You know it is. Racism should not be tolerable regardless of who the target/victim is.
