First, the weather forecast. High of 56, low of 33, thunderstorms likely. On unpaved, dirt mountain trails with steep inclines and declines, rain will be devastating.
Second, my health. About a month ago, I had a cold. Typical cold, started with the usual sore throat, moved to a head full of snot and stuffy nose, then to a cough. Usually, it fades away from there, lasting less than a week. This time though, the cough persisted, though it faded to a very minimal cough. This morning, I got up with a sore throat again, which worsened through out the day. When I got home from work, I took a nap. When I got up, it was worse. And I can see at least one white 'thing' near the back of my throat. My gag reflex, short cue tips, and tongue prevent me from actually getting to it though.
I hate to self diagnosis, but a few google searches turned up information that I didn't like. Strep, Mono, and a few others. I don't think it's strep though. I used to get that every winter when I was young, so I know what it feels like. I don't feel like I have a fever, nor do I feel the extreme exhaustion and quesiness that I'd associate with strep. This also likely rules out any strain of the flu.
Hopefully, I can get in to see a doctor tomorrow morning. Regardless, I will be doing the run, even if I have full blown strep, H1N1, Mono, or something else. Incidentally, if you hear about an outbreak of something in northern AZ, it was probably me.
