I hope the person I'm referring to reads this....
I hate driving in PA. I wonder if for PA drivers' ed they give you the NJ drivers' ed manual and say "Do the opposite." A huge number of PA drivers think they are more important than anyone else. They have an exclusive license to block intersections, cause gridlock, not use turn signals, run red lights, fail to yield at green lights, stop when merging, cut in 3 cars back when merging, go 10 mph below the limit in the left lane and pass on the shoulder.
That's not to say there's no good drivers in PA or that all jersey drivers have half a clue...but in PA or NJ, when I see a car do something obnoxious, I always look at the tag. 80% of the time, it's usually a PA tag...
Anyway....coming home from Target. There is a T-intersection we're at, with a light. Big SUV in front of me. SUV-driver (who has no turn signal on, of course) is making a left turn. Nevermind the light is red, he's going anyway. He has to stop short in the middle of an intersection to not get hit by a car coming across. Then he just moseys on through the red light. As soon as he gets through it turns green (it's not a long light, you impatient fop!). So I floor it until I'm just about in his trunk (I drive a friggin Escort, but compared to his Ford Exhorbitant or whatever it was, I guess I have much better acceleration). It's maybe 1/4 mile down to the next light. He's going well below the speed limit to get to the light. What a fool--he was in such a hurry that he was willing to run a red light, and now he's puttering along.
He gets to the intersection. Red light. He actually puts on a turn signal. He's going right. There's no cars coming. You CAN turn-on-red at this intersection. The driver stops and waits. He probably would have waited until it turned green. I don't usually honk at drivers not turning at a red light...if they think it's no-turn-on-red or don't think it's safe, that's their decision to make. But I was so annoyed at the audacity of this guy to flagrantly drive right through a red light illegally, but who wouldn't make a legal move 30 seconds later. What a clown. Coming to the next light, he was STILL puttering along at a snail's pace. Good thing I was going in a different direction....
