While trying to get my uncles CD Drive working I found this site hacked.

What file do you need? For what model and what operating system?

I'm actually looking for a firmware (or was I should say).

My uncles CD-R has never worked according to him. He's had one of his friends (big PC Geek like me) and my dad look at it and could never get it to work.

Now that I'm in Singapore visiting, I figured I'd try to get it working 🙂

The burner is this:

24x10x40 Matshita (Panasonic) UJDD410 - BTW it is "Matshita" not "Matushita"

The drive is detected fine in the BIOS and in Windows.

I got the latest firmware (2.08) and installed it, but just as before, the burner will not read any discs (stamped or burned).

It seems like others have had problems with this drive also. I've also tried the firmware for the Ricoh and Aaopen drive which is apparently the same drive rebadged and still no luck.

I'm basically out of ideas.

Also, the OS is Win2k Pro.

Sounds like a dead drive to me.

I don't own it, but it's in my shopping cart right now. I ain't gonna pull the trigger, because I don't need it, but DAMN, $40.00 for a dual layer, name brand burner that can handle both DVD-R and DVD+R... sheesh!

Also, note that driverguide doesn't actually create a login for you, they have only one login that they give to everybody. drivers/all

Why do they need this info? 😕

Why does DriverGuide.com require membership?

We have found that the best way to stay on top of the myriad of drivers out there is to allow users to help each other. To that end, we have created an environment which allows users to upload drivers to our server for other users to download, post questions and solutions to our message boards, etc. We started out not requiring membership, but this resulted in many inappropriate posts and uploads. Now that we require membership, we are in a position to enforce the regulations of our site. We know that it is a pain to deal with registration and passwords, and we apologize for that, but we feel that it ultimately makes this site better for everyone. Thanks for your understanding and patience!
