While first arriving in New York, Paul Oakenfold was ...

This might be a trick question(IE, a DJ..duh😉) but I could definitely see him as a limo driver. I didn't look it up, but that seems probable...

He was a courier, everybody knows that. He shacks up with a girl I know in SF when he comes to town. She's kinda gross too.

Some of my DJ friends know him, say he's a snobby a-hole now. That aside, I heard him live at club Eleven50 here in Atlanta and enjoyed the concert.

BT, my favorite electronica artist (overall) seems to hate Oakenfold. Oakenfold is BT's record company, I think.

Whatever. His music is good.

Bastardo! I was supposed to go, but couldn't. I like 1150 tho, cool place. A friend of mine is a bouncer there. And definitely good music when I go there.

Who's Paul Oakenfold?

Some small-town DJ guy.

Ahh...that would be why I have no idea who he is.

i hope both of those are sarcastic cuz he's pretty much the nsync of the dj'ing world

Actually I'm being quite serious. I honestly had no idea who he was/is. I don't listen to that kind of music, so how would I know who he is?

Ok. Still doesn't change the fact that I wouldn't know him unless he came up and said, "Hi, I'm Paul Oakenfold, the most recognized DJ in the world."

Perhaps I don't know him is because I can't stand techno or whatever it's being called now.

Too bad. He spun the first half, then got on stage with a band and composed all the tracks from his Bunkka album.

He did the song in the chase scene of The Bourne Identity, if any of you guys are looking to connect him with some sort of music.

Hrmm....don't remember the music in that scene, must not have been that memorable (to me).

Edit: I'm not trying to ruin your thread or anything but I honestly have no idea who the guy is other than some DJ. Before this thread, I didn't even know he was a DJ. 🙂

Huh?

These Dj's definitely more famous...

Moby
FatBoySlim
Funk Master Flex
Jam Master Jay
Afrika Bambaataa
Grandmaster Flash
Mix Master Mike
Tricky
Goldie

Maybe he's the most famous house DJ.. probably tied with

Sasha & Digweed

Doesn't oakenfold claim he brought jungle to NYC or some other such nonsense? I hate his music, and I like electronica. His music makes me yawn and wish I were dead.

You're referring to "Ready, Steady, Go" from his Bunkka album. I've heard it used in lots of places. Other great tracks from that album are "Starry-Eyed Surprise," "Hypnotised," and of course the amazing "Southern Sun."

Bunkka @ Amazon.com

for better or for worse, oakenfold is bringing electronica to the masses. i used to like him, and i liked him when i saw him perform, but now i'm not into that style. at one point he did have talent, though
