Which x800 GTO: Connect3D or Sapphire Fireblade or HIS?

The Sapphire Fireblade has better stock cooling and can overclock more.

While the C3D has a 50% chance of unlocking to 16pipelines.

Which one?

I'm thinking the FireBlade because it comes with pretty good stock cooling, so I won't have to spend money on a Zalman

Well, the GTO2 is the only one that will reach X850 XT speeds and since I already got one for my girl, I won't keep my secret sources a secret anymore. :p

They are available here and here, and here

Actually that last link was my secret source when thier price was still $220

If I had an extra $40 I'd spend it on getting a Opty 148 instead of a 144, I have a budget, i'm not going to break it... now back to the question....

The second line was my answer.

Though, why not skimp on the video card more, get that Opteron 148, and get a better video card later since they drop in prices a lot faster than cpus?

The failure rate on the Connect3D's was only a reported 7 out of 135 (128 successful) around the end of November..
Its been reported that after that date and to this current day, there have been an alarmingly more amount of failures. (Newegg mainly).. Supposedly, a new batch with possibly the laser cut cores, resulting in more failures...

If you get the Connect3, get it from another source

With the amount of failures recently with the connect3d, I'd say get the fireblade.

Here's the information I collected-

All of this OC information is with STOCK HS/F-

The HIS reaches 548 CORE 1185 MEMORY

The Sapphire FIREBLADE reaches 581 CORE 1222 MEMORY

With proper flashing, the Connect3d reaches 570 CORE 1140 MEMORY with 16PIPELINES (very hot)

WITHOUT FLASH OR MORE COOLING IT GETS TO 526 CORE and 1122 MEMORY

I would really like to get the connect3d, but I heard the succesful flash rate is on the decline.

Ordered my Connect3D X800 GTO on 11/20 from Monarch, and it runs at X850XT speeds (520C/540M), could do more, but this is fine, and is unlocked to 16-pipes, was an easy mod.

BBB and VeriSign confirm em

no resellerratings, anyone have any personal experience/
They say they don't charge your card till the item actually ships. Shipping is a little high, but considering the price still a hot deal.

Hmm, i'm looking at the HIS Now... looks pretty nice. It seems to run cool, and quiet unlike the FIREBLADE, which is suppose to be very loud.

From what I've heard...
The x800gto2 is 100% unlockable but more expensive.
The connect3d gto unlocks most of the time, but recently much more failures are appearing.
The Fireblade is cheap and can overclock pretty good. Down side is it's loud stock cooler.
The plain sapphire x800gto has a crap stock hsf but with my copper zalman it goes from 400/490 to 630/620. I get 6400 in 3dmark05.
The HIS GTO is a bit more $$ and has a better cooler but doesn't clock at high.
Choose what in there you like and go for it.

You have the reg. Sapphire x800gto with a VF700-CU and you get 630/620 (1240)? wow, I really need to look into that solution, only costs $200

You are correct. But the HIS and the FIREBLADE can overclock to very high speeds. The Connect3d now has a poor unlock rate, and teh x800gto2 is expensive.

The HIS actually comes with a stock program where you can overclock. I've heard people hitting over 600/1100
