After, simply because statistics show that cohabiting women are 80% more likely to separate or divorce than are women who have not lived with their spouses before marriage

Because statistics can't lie, of course.

Never!

WAIT till you get married. Because if you move in together you'll be having sex and that's not allowed until you are married.

It's not allowed for only certain people.

I don't want to live with my boyfriend until we are married or at least engaged and planning our wedding. none of this "we're getting married in 8 years" crap.

I look at it this way, I don't just want to live with some guy and have everything being "this is yours, this is mine", that is what roommates do, not people who love eachother. If i am going to live with someone romantically, then i want it to be part of our life together and there is no "testing it out" or whatever. If we love eachother enough to commit to having a life together then we can commit to being married.

I've never gotten into the "yours/mine" stuff with my gf. It's sort of unstated, I guess, but I think that it would be the same if we were married. Some stuff is more hers than mine and vice versa.

same thing happened to my friend, they had to cancel the wedding, etc. So move in and do a test drive first!

Personally, I would never marry someone that I did not first live with for a long time. The b/f and I are together 5.5 years and own a home together for almost 4.5 of those. He wants to get married, I am not ready.

Having said that... statics show that couples who live toghther first are much more likely to divorce, than those who marry before living together. Dunno why, but that is what the stats say.

:)
