Which would you choose
Both are the same price, which would you choose and why? Would you want a faster laptop with less ram and harddrive, or slower laptop with more memory?

Dell 2650 laptop
Pentium 4 1.7ghz
20 Gig HD
256 DDR Ram (2 dimm)
24x CDRW
15" TFT LCD
16MB geforce2 Go

Or

Dell 2650 Laptop
Celeron 1.6Ghz
30 Gig HD
512 DDR Ram (2 dimm)
24x CDRW/DVD combo Drive
15' TFT LCD
16MB geforce2 Go

Celeron, definitely. DVD and HD space. It's not like the difference between the P4 and Celeron is going to matter on a laptop w/ a 16mb GF2Go card.

i would probably go with the p4, specially for the same price, besides its a lappy hd size shouldnt really be an issue.

Celerons do suck, but it has alot more memory, and a bigger drive... sadly. would probably be better. Also, battery life is probably better.

Ok, I will add this

Its a desktop replacement for me. Battery life isnt a big issue for me, either is the DVD player. I watch all my DVD's on my home entertainment setup.

The reason im leaning twords the P4 is because, the ram and harddrive can be easily upgraded later on.. the CPU cant.

I'd go with the celeron/dvd one simply because you will regret it in the long run when you are traveling and want to watch a movie. Believe, I know from experience.

I have another laptop with a DVD player, so I could use that one for long trips ect.

So, would you still choose the celly?

#2 definately, you'd have the DVD, 50% more HD space, and double the ram. What are you going to do on a laptop that will make a noticable difference between a celeron and P4 anyway?

1st one. I don't use tons of HD space, and you can upgrade your memory.

I'd go with a second one, for the mere reason that I've never seen a laptop with a screen that size. ;)
