Which would be better ?

ATI Radeon X800 XL or a Nvidia GF 6800 NU ?

Decided to upgrade the card after all.
Don't feel like being Cardless while my 6600GT is getting RMA'd 🙁

It crapped out on me.

Go0 with whatever. X800XL for best bang. Nvidia 6800 for good stuff. I say go for a EVGA 6800, and then about 2 months later upgrade to a GT via STEP UP PROGRAM. I did that and man oh man this EVGA 6800GT looks sweet. Mine came with a silver cover and a green LED fan. I kinda wish the fan would glow blue though...

the x800 XL is more comparable to the 6800GT... so yeah, it's better than the non-ultra.

Nice choice. And it's sort of funny you got a better card waiting for your older, slower card to get back from RMA.

speaking of which,
I have my card on its way back to Canada for RMA also

using a Voodoo 4 as a substitute
not gaming right now, so its alright

$240 bucks, isn't much of a difference from what I paid on the 6600GT..
so i figured why the hell not.

i'd get a 6800 whatever it is. has shader model 3.0
