Which would be better to do

Presently, I'm a poly sci major at UCF. I'm seriously contemplating about whether or not to double major in poly sci and economics. I honestly cannot think of a better combination of degrees for my chosen career (government, senator, president). My hitch is whether or not to double major it or to just major/minor (former poly sci, the latter economics) with these two.

I just started working on my BA this semester (transferred with an AA), so I'm a blank slate essentially. If i were to double major, when should I start persuing the econ. degree? Should I do 90% one degree, then work on the other or split it up 50/50% during my schooling?

I have an appointment with my dept. chair tomorrow morning to discuss the double major option but I'd like some input from anyone double majoring or from someone with any general advice.

Double. At least declare it now before it's too late, because there is a cutoff after you get so many units. Change your mind later.

Remember, minors do not appear on degrees.

I'd double major so you end up with one useful degree since the first one is useless. 😉

Just split the work 50/50 so you're fresh on both when you graduate. They should have plenty of overlapping requirements anyway.

Major in econ and minor in poly sci. The poly sci will help you if you want to get into consulting like Mckinsey.

but double majoring will be really kickass because i can a) consult or b) run for office/appointed to cabinet (where all these posts I make on AT will become public...that'll be fun).

either way i'll have fun!
