OK I have about $500.00 buks to spend, no more. These options would be in my price range.

Here is my current thinking, do I...
A. Upgrade my P3 650 slightly OCed to a 1.2 ghz T-bird w/ Motherboard keeping my GeForce DDR ?

B. Wait for NV20 to come out and upgrade my GeForce DDR only keeping the P3 650 ?

C. Do something else, your suggestions please !

I'm very patient on making this decision, no hurry. Which would give me the best performance/bang for the buck ? Iplay mostly games, but I am doing a lot more scanning and picture work lately. With the AMD system would I need to replace my power supply or any other system components ?

System:
P3-650
300w SGI PS
BX6-R2 MB
256 PC100 Crucial CAS2 ram
30 gig Maxtor ATA/100
Umax 3400 USB Scanner
Aureal Vortex SG2500 sound

Thanks for your input !

I would upgrade your MB and CPU, then put your existing MB and CPU on the forsale/trade forums and use that cash to buy or trade for a new video card.

This thing have a spell check??

I agree, do the T-bird and a KT133A board on the cheap now, and by the time NV20 is out you'll have had enough time to save for one of those too.

My advice is to wait, but I NEVER do. I would hang on for a while until DDR mobo and Next generation video cards are out. That way you will see a HUGE improvement.

I agree, you should definitely wait, DX8 video cards like NV20 are just around the corner. Your current CPU is easily more than fast enough for almost any task imaginable outside professional applications. Also, there are zero games that would considerably benefit from GeForce DDR to even GF2/Ultra upgrade unless you're a really big fan of very high resolutions (1280x960 and up).

I wouldn't get a new video card for sure.

I'd probably upgrade to a KT133A mobo and 133mhz Tbird though probably not the top-of-line. The top-of-line 1.2ghz is a quite a bit more expensive but only a tiny bit faster. I wouldn't wait for DDR either... it just doesn't seem to be very much faster and it's expensive.
