Which Windows to get...ME or XP?

Well I'm lookin to upgrade my OS.........now my questions is which version do I get?....Windows ME or Windows XP.......or Windows 2000?.....

Whats the difference?

ME will make no difference at all if you already have Win9X.
XP is the best choice by far.

What hardware are you using? I wouldn't even consider ME, if it's an old system look at 98SE or use 2000 for a newer box. There are still quite a few support issues with XP...

If your hardware is supported I would get XP it has the stability of 2000 and the multimedia memory hogging crap that ME has.

What's the big difference between XP Home and XP Pro? Why would someone go for pro?

XP for sure. Very stable for me.

I had Me for about 2 weeks last year. The stupid thing crashed every hour or so. It especially liked to crash when I was trying to save a document (gee, what a great time to crash). :| Get XP. I think it's probably the best Windows OS yet.

If you have a smallish hard drive, you might want to consider getting 2000.

I saw a brand new Gateway laptop with XP Professional on it today, and the install size was ~ 1.2 gigs! I realize the install is customizable, but I've heard a lot of similar stories.

Not only that, but XP should be penalized because in its original format, it's pretty/animated/hogging resources/flaming/etc.

XP IF your hardware is fully supported. If not get Win2k. ME is the biggest piece of crap EVER. Even worse than win98.

The chances of your hardware being unsupported in XP is slim (unless you have a freaking old computer)

Windows Me is the worst windows 9x system made. It was an interim piece of junk that ms put out until they could get xp out.
