which winamp version does you guys use?

the Last time I check everyone in those 133t audiophile's forum insist in using 2.80 with that frankenstien codecs thing and blasted the new Winamp 3.0 for being too bloated and doesn't sound as good.

but that was like 2 years ago.

I just recieved a new computer and wondering what version should I install, my old winamp 2.80, the 3.0, or the new 5.03? (or just use WMP and Real One instead?)

Dont go above 2. something. . .

cool thx, now I will just have to find that Frankxxx codec things again.... (I have 2.80)
and I found 2.91 available on www.download.com, should I even bother?

If it ain't broke don't fix. You'll find other threads here about the newer ones being slow, buggy, etc. . .

What about 5?..Winamp 3 was terrible, but 5 has been working great for me.

I still use 2.80 and don't see myself changing anytime soon except if I feel like downloading a newer 2.x version.

I use 2.91 on one comp, simply cause it works and I see no reason to change.
On my newly installed computer I use 5.03 though, works just as well.

2.91 here, the 5.03 is too bloated for me, with their media manager and sjite, I just wanna play some MP3's and that's all, so winamp 2.91 it is, and it will stay.

Winamp 5.03 IS Winamp 2.9x

Just switch to the "Classic" skin.


Its Winamp 2.9x with some majorly updated plugins.
