Which will give me more performance increase in games?

OPTION 1
Basically I can get 1 gig of CL2.5 PC3200 ram and run 5:4 ratios on an overclocked P4 + Audigy 2 ZS

OR for the same price

OPTION 2
highly overclockable 1 gig of Patriot PC3200 w/XBL on Samsung TCCD 2-2-2-5 that'll do 260FSB 1:1 at 2.5-3-3-7.

I thought about it for a long time but I still can't see why you need to list the sound card.

I don't see why you wouldn't pick 2...

#2 #2 5:4 ratio is NOT the optimum way to run your RAM. Take a look (probably already have) at 1st thread here on Anand on cpu/processors

I say #1 since you probably won't notice any difference and you'll at least have the best gaming soundcard.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I found this review on Audigy 2 ZS:

...but the performance increases seem to be too hard to believe. % wise we are looking at massive performance improvements compared to slow descrete sound cards. I can't even imagine what this would do to a onboard soundcard. But until someone confirms this as reality, this seems too good to be true.

It'd be nice to hear from users with Audigy 2 cards who moved up from Onboard sound and if they found any performance improvement or not. I know audigy 2 sounds real nice, but I have $50 creative speakers 5.1 5300 series and I am just trying to balance my budget strictly based on performance.

I think you misunderstood me. I have P4 already overclocked. I have to give away my current ram to my dad. So it's either I get:

PC3200 CL2.5 non-overclocking ram and run 5:4 ratio + Audigy 2 ZS sound card

OR

for the same price overclocking ram and run 260FSB or whatever at 1:1 (since this the cheap ram costs $150 + sound card $70 = $220 and overclokers ram = $220 as well)
