Which will be better Battle LA or Transformers 3?

I saw both trailers and both look great.

I know nothing about the people behind Battle LA but the trailer has me hooked and I thinking this movie is how I wanted the original Transformers to be with more war.

Watching the non teaser for Transformers 3 last night also looks more war-like but those clips could all be from the climax/final battle. Hopefully this movie will also be great.

Either way I am hooked and want to see both in theaters.

Transformer, hands down... it has that melodramatic, emotional touch that makes it a win! that... victory of the just and weak over the strong and unjust...

they both will most likely suck and get less then 50% on RT, however they will most likely be decent popcorn flicks full of mindless action and explosions

Battle LA will be overshadowed by the release of Thor.

Its really bad marketing to release Battle LA 3 days in front of Thor. There are millions of comic book fans that have been waiting years for Thor to hit the big screen. When Friday night rolls around (May 6), people to going to be watching Thor, and Battle LA is going to be bumped out of the way.

I predict that Transformers will be a bigger hit then Battle LA. Just because more people are going to watch Transformers.

I'm not really a comic book "fan" but I love comic book movies. Thor looked kinda...meh. Captain America had a more appealing trailer to me.

As to question in the OP...Battlefield LA looks like the better popcorn flick. I'm hoping it's going to be a grittier, updated version of Independence Day.

a bunch of movies comeing out iw ant to see. Alien cowboys, T3, Thor ,Captian America hell yeah

Uhh what?

The release of Battle LA from the superbowl ad yesterday was March 11th.

Thor is set for May 6.

Ok, my bad, I thought Battle LA was "before" Thor.

But either way, before or after, I think its going to be bad for Battle LA to be released anywhere near a Marvel movie.

In the long run, I look for more people to be talking about Transformers 3 then Battle LA, just because of when LA is going to be released.

Another thing, isnt Steven Spielberg been working on the Transformers movies? I thought I saw his name in the credits for Transformers 2.

Battle LA is being released 2 months before Thor and 4 months before Transformers. I don't release dates being much of a problem at all.

I'm optimistic about Battle LA but I could easily be let down. We'll see I guess.

I must be getting my dates confused, I thought the super bowl ad said May 2011.

I refused to see Transformers 2 and I'll similarly refuse to see Transformers 3.

I will, however, watch Battle LA.

No one cares about robots fighting robots. there are no stakes. they battle it out, never seem to lose or win, they just keep fighting with nothing to lose or gain.

No human can sympathize with these empty, invulnerable shells. it simply doesn't matter.

this is why those movies will always fail.

I will not be watching either of them cos there is Michale Bay printed all over those.

I may be not be the right person.. cos my judgment maybe clouded by the nostalgia, but I really loved the Transformers animated series.. I really did empathize with Autobots... and MB really ruined it.

Short Circuit and WALL-E would disagree with you. The first Bay Transformers was also a resounding success.

Box Office success, indeed.

where in Short Circuit or Wall-E did you have robots endlessly pummeling each other with no clear goal in mind? smashing, smashing, with no real result, no death, no harm...nothing.

Wall-E is one of my favorite movies, one of the more human and emotionally-conducive movies in recent time. it did not feature robots fighting each other.

Perhaps you are confusing this with something else?
:hmm:

Transformers movies removed all stakes. There is simply no reason to care.

I responded to your second statement. That humans can't empathize with robots.

And I would say that Transformers was more than a box office hit. It was a very good movie. Sure, as someone who grew up with Transformers and saw the original in the theater, I agree that it could have been better, but it was still extremely enjoyable.

I like the way you think.

Transformers 3 has Shia LeBoof in it, which means it'll suck no matter how good everything else about the movie is. Also, after the abomination that is Transformers 2, I do not have high hopes for this.
