I tested an Ati 1800GTO and while it worked at lower resolutions on all ports and with all kinds of inputs.. no 1080P and never could get it to display at 1920X1080 in any old operating system.. may have worked on one port over DVI in Windows.. card rma'd so can't test
Have bought and tried three GeForce 7600's.. the first did not work and the second and third I just bought.. the XFX Fatal1ty. Cool heatsink, hot running card.. needs air.. but..
Only the inside port closest to the motherboard works at all and only over DVI to DVI.. no vga, etc.. on these cards.. but.. good news is that inside port outputs 1080P to my 37 inch Westy.
My question is.. shouldn't the outside port work too? It does not work as it should.. am I missing something?
I tried testing both in my favorite test lab.. any old computer running with a recent copy of Puppy LInux.. loads in about a minute.. anyway.. swapping out the various video cards.. the first port is recognized.. through the first the Monitor is recognized.. etc.. and all works smoothly, but.. the through the second port, monitor not recognized.. and these cards just don't do 1080P, they don't do anything.. nada over the second port..
Anyone have any ideas on this? Does the second DVI-I away from motherboard need to be turned on or enabled??
There seems to be a lot of cards that Daamit and Nvidia have brought to market that claim 1080P support, but.. how many really support it over both dvi-i ports?
