which video card to choose, 128MB GDDR4 vs 256MB GDDR3?

Apollo Radeon 4670 or HIS 4670?

I just want a good priced card that will run games decently, I'm not concerned about high graphics settings, so the Radeon 4670 looks like a good choice.

Which is better between these two cards? Is the GDDR4 memory on the Apollo card an advantage? Or is it a disadvantage because there's less of it? Apollo has OpenGL 2.1 (vs 2.0), HIS has a faster core clock. HIS has an "IceQ" cooler, is that important?

I realize these are minimal differences, I'm just curious is there's anything significant though. Should I save a few bucks and go with Apollo, or spend more for the HIS with the fancy-named cooler?

If you have to decide between those two, I'd get the Apollo. If you can spare a few more bucks, I'd get this.

I'd probably also go for the apollo. I dont think there's any particular benefit from having gddr4 over gddr3 and more vram probably isn't gonna help too much with such a low end video card.

But like the other two said, a 4770 or 4830 would be highly recommended.

Don't think there is a big gain: gddr3 ---> gddr4. I do like the dual-slot cooler on the HIS, though.

hd4830/hd4670 benchies

You got game with the hd4670 at a low rez and medium settings (especially with a 15 to 20% overclock) but the hd4830 is clearly superior.
