I getting a new mb and memory and vieo card already decided on the dfi lanparty ultra and the ocz vx gold series memory I will keep my current cpu (fx55)
which video card should i get ?

Thanks

ditto on that. Everything we've seen so far indicates that the 512mb card is godly. I'm hoping I can afford one for my computer I'm building soon... but if money is no object, then definitely get that card.

7800GTX 512MB. No Question.

Clocked at 550MHZ (core) / 1800MHZ (mem) this is a beastly card.

Wait until the 14th for a price drop (hey, just because money is of no matter doesn't mean you can't wait a few days and save money).

Money no object...

Voodoo 5 6000 😀

Its rarity, heritage and superb AA will make it the most valuable vid card ever made. It will be the ONLY vid card to ever appreciate in value.

Go with the 7800 GTX 512 MB. Apparently, one person reported he can play F.E.A.R., Quake 4, and Call of Duty 2 with Supersampling 4XAA at 1900 X 1200 with just one card.

asus is soon to release a dual chip R520 card, which with 512MB and the power of 2 X1800 XTs will most likely overpower any SLI setup to date. (given the amazing success of the N7800 GT dual).

I'm holding out with my R480 just long enough to aquire one of these or an X1800 crossfire, whichever makes more sense in the next few months.

To my shame, however, this means postponing COD2, FEAR, and Quake4 because i don't believe in selling myself short on the first run through any game 🙂

I don't understand. A single GTX 512mb is faster than a X1800 XT 512MB, but an X1800 crossfire is faster than a couple of GTX 512mb SLI?

Money not an object? Buy both corporations and force them to work together.

Oh and include the little guys too (S3, Matrox).

Then you'll get the best video card ever.

*yes, I am aware that corporations can't be bought out directly. This post was for sarcasm. If you wanted my truthful and serious consideration, just get dual GTX 512mb like the rest. I'd personally get X1800XT dual, but that's just me.

Yes you can. Just offer to buy them for tons $$$, more than their shares are worth. Shareholders will def aprove the deal, hostile takeovers happen all over the place, then you own the companies.

For those of you reccomending the crossifre card that is double, this is the DFI Ultra NForce 4 board. It can be modified to SLI I beleive, but I don't think crossfire cards are an option.

Actually that was with two cards. He reported stuttering in COD2 with one card.

i want a single card setup, what would be the pick ? is the 512 gtx better than the x1800xt ?
when i say better meaning that with all the goodies in F.E.A.R at maximum and soft shadows enable card wont stutter.
and the quality of visuals is the best.

Is there a problem with the gtx that some guy here shows some pictures of bad shadows or something like that?

Need advise

Thanks
