Which video card for MSI K8N Neo 2 Platinum?

I have a Matrox G400 max. It obviously won't work in the MSI at this time. Maybe they'll issue a fix in their BIOS, but its been months now. What is a good compatable video card for the MSI Neo 2 Plat?

I don't play alot of 3D games and would have been happy with my G400 max. I do like the idea of the ATI AIW agp cards. The 9600XT and 9600 look ok. What are the differences? What cards offer similar features? Are there slightly older cards like this I could use...if I find them for sale?

🙂

Do you have a price range to work with?
sounds like a 9600 series might be what you are looking for, as you don't game much. The good thing about the 9600 is that it should still be able to run the games decently if you do decide to dabble. the 9600pro and 9600XT are more of the same, the XT is just a better performer. Don't get a 9600SE card, that is a crippled piece of hardware. But if you want an all-in-wonder series card, you don't have to worry because there isn't a 9600SE AIW version anyways. an AIW 9600 Pro or XT would probably be great for you.

Right. AIW 9600 Pro can't be found anywhere. I'm looking for a temporary solution. I was going to grab an ATI AIW Radeon 7200 32 mb for now for hopefully less than $50 CAD until I can afford the 9600 xt or something similar. Too bad they don't have DVI.

Thinking of trying a different video card or different motherboard.

What about the Sapphire 9600 XT with or without VIVO? or;
MSI NX6600GT VXD128

Two different beasts.

AIW 9600XT? How good is this card? How does it compare to the 9800 Pro? What is hardware MPEG encode assist? That is listed as a feature of the AIW 9800 Pro and AIW 9600XT but not the 9800 Pro. I assume it has to do with capturing video and not DVD playback?
