Which vehicle would win in a quarter mile race?

All I know for sure is that that would be one sad, slow quarter mile. On paper the Intrigue has a far better power to weight ratio, so I imagine it would win fairly easily.

I could drink a whole can of pepsi faster than their 1/4 mile.

Want to post engine specs, wheel diameter, gear ratios and a torque/hp curve for us?

Yeah no s***...

Well the Envoy has 275 @ 3600 Torque and a weight of 5,750lbs. 17" tires...

The intrigue has 230@4400...but I can't find a listed weight...16" tires...
it would have to be a lot lighter to win with a lower torque peak at higher RPM...

Hmmm I'm not paying much attention to these numbers....at 5750 the intruigue probably is a LOT lighter..

Oh well.

I don't care. I can't beleve I'm actually doing this.

They are both like 25 seconds, get out and run. You'll win.
Who cares.

Power to weight of intrigue is much better but the gearing on the envoy would be crappier for that as well.

This would be listed under who gives a damn.

How about these race choices:

Yugo vs Hyundia Pony (Canada only)

Chevy Sprint (or Firefly) vs Plymouth Arrow

VW Rabbit vs Dodge Aries

Intrigue should have a full second faster quarter mile, according to my little qarter mile, HP, vehicle weight, gear ratio, etc. calculator. 5750 lbs is a whole lot more weight to move.

wow the Oldsmobile has six valves per cylinder thats the highest I have ever heard - but what are they for ?? Power is still quite low for a 3.5l engine

Six valves? :Q That has got to be a misprint. Even F1 cars only use 5.

It is a misprint. The site lists it as 36 vales, but the 3.5 only has 24. It was derived from the Aurora engine.
