Which utils can't you do without?

there's a lot of software out that, a lot of small utils etc that I've probably never heard of but maybe you find you can't do without because it's so good...

what software, small utils, popupblockers etc do YOU use daily or from time to time and like to recommend? thanks for any tips on good software!!
 
For Windows? PuTTY, WinAMP, Firebird, Thunderbird, Cygwin and IrfanView immediately spring to mind.
 
yup for windows xp i mean.

im getting a new pc and will install a lot of stuff from scratch so i want to find some usefull and good programs =)
 
Winamp - no description needed 🙂
Daemon Tools - CD Emulation
Classic Media Player - Much better than the MS Media Player
Leechget - Download manager
MP3tag - Great MP3 tag editor
Ad-aware, Spyware S&D, SpywareBlaster - Spyware removal tools
 
NetVampire (a download utility).
ReForce (for forcing correct refresh rates in Windows XP).
RivaTuner (when using nVidia cards).
 
EAC and LAME.........my favorite ripper combo.
Editpad Lite............ for almost all my quick PHP and HTML editing.
Thunderbird..........best POP client IMO.
MYSQLFront..........DB management extrordinaire.
SSH Secure shell client.
Adaware6.........Spyware detection and removal.
Spybot1.2.........Ditto.
 
ppls, there's a sticky for this, wanted to say this yesterday, but didnt in fear of bumping it, ... maybe keep it centralised ?
