which used car

spent most of the weekend used car hunting.....three candidates I've found so far:

04 mazda 6 50K miles
05 honda accord 68K miles
05 nissan altima 62K miles.

all within a few hundred bucks of each other when all is said and done. I like them all but I think the altima should be cheaper. Accord wins out in MPG, the 6 was the most fun to drive.

I'd go for the Accord. We have an 03 EX (now with 70k miles) that runs like it just came off the showroom floor. Absolutely zero unexpected repairs or breakdowns; the car is as solid as a rock.

In fact we're probably going to get an 09 model when we trade in the 03.

V6 or I-4?

Accord for reliability and fuel efficiency. Mazda 6 for fun-to-drive. I wouldn't get an Altima, unless it was the V6 SE-R. What do you value most?

Honda Accord for majority of the reasons, such as gas, resale value and others. Its a pretty fun car to drive as well.

If your worried about gas prices, the Accord if not the 6
The 6 would be more fun to drive and looks better IMO

Accord easily. Best value retention, great fuel economy, won't fall apart near as much as the Nissan or Mazda. Surprising that they'd be that close in price. Usually Mazdas/Nissans depreciate in value much faster than Honda/Toyota.
