Which USB do we have?

In my hardware class today, the question came up whether our computers were usb 1.1 or 2.0....In the past I had wanted to know...but I couldn't find any way to figure it out. Besides looking up the motherboard specs, (which didn't help) is there a way in windows...or a free software download that would tell us what USB we have? Belarc doesnt' tell us, so I don't know what else to use

Use Device Manager and go under Universal Serial Bus Controllers, under that you will see something that says USB 2.0 Root Hub, USB 2.0 Controllor...etc...if it doesn't have that, then you probably don't have USB 2.0.

I think it's totally worth the effort to find out your motherboard type
