Which USB 2.0 hubs don't need to be powered to work.

I ordered a belkin usb 2.0 hub from staples and it works well. But unlike usb 1.0 hubs that i had in the past it must be plugged into the wall (powered) to work.

Are you aware of any usb 2.0 hubs that don't have to be powered to work. I don't use any devices on it that require a powered hub to work.

Have you tried to use it without the power adapter? I have a USB 1.1 hub that had an adapter (I lost it somehow) and it still works. I think the USB 2.0 hub will likley work without the adapter in the same manner. Just so long as your devices don't require more power than the bus supplies.

Personally, I'd prefer to have a powered hub - that way it doesn't suck all the power out of the USB port on the computer. End result: more power available for everything to use.
I know that there was a 500mA cap on each device under USB 1.1, but I don't know if that has carried over to USB 2.0; I imagine that it can't be too much higher if at all.
