aside from what everyone else has mentioned:
American Horror Story is pretty f'd up and worth a watch
Fringe - hit or miss, but last season coming and overall it's pretty good.
Spartacus
Workaholics (Comedy)
The IT Crowd (British Comedy)
On the Deadwood note, Carnivale....just be prepared to be pissed off if you like it.
I've been watching Continuum to see if it really goes anywhere..but its not bad, just not great.
Breaking Bad - yes technically this is the last season, but they are splitting it up into two halves, with the second half airing in 2013.
How about just living life?
: D
I actually watched a few episodes of American horror story and lied it a lot, but same deal as walking dead, i hate waiting. Nothing better than watching like 5 seasons in a row. I'm actually the most excited for homeland, as its made by the people who made 24.
anyone watch dr who? I listen to the nerdist podcast and Hardwick talks about it a ton.
I guess i should have named the thread, which do i NEED to watch. Like shows everyone should watch in their lifetime that I've missed up until now - which is a big reason i think i need to go back and finish sopranos and also watch band of brothers. If i hadn't seen 24 i would hope someone would yell at me for not. Also part of the reason i considered the west wing.
Thanks for all recommendations up to this point. One last question:
I've never watched star trek, it battlestar galactica. Any of those old nerdy shows worth going back and watching if i haven't already? Any other old shows? (I'm 27 btw, so some really old stuff kind of loses its charm)
If you enjoyed "24", then you'll love "Homeland". It's by the same group that did "24" (co-creators/writers: Alex Gansa, Gideon Raff, Howard Gordon). And it shows. The writing/pacing is very "24".
Clare Danes recently won the Golden Globe for her acting. When I watched the original run, I could tell that lady was going to win awards. She really shows some acting chops. Her character is the Jack Bauer of the show and goes up against anybody that gets in her way of completing the mission/task....just like Bauer.
Dr. Who is also an enjoyable romp. It's a little campy but not cheesy. It works. BG and Star Trek are worth watching. They're considered classics by many, after all.
