Which Tualatin Celeron o/c best?

TUSL2-C with PC150 RAM. Which will o/c the highest in mhz? which will go highest in fsb? which would you recommend?
 
i'd get the 1.1a for that 133mhz fsb can be easily obtained (1466mhz), 1.0a is basically a given @ 133mhz fsb (1333mhz), where as the 1.2 takes some work and a good cpu batch to reach 133mhz fsb (1600mhz). w/ the tusl2-c, maybe you should go for 1.0a and see if you can work that pc150 @ 150mhz for 1500mhz 🙂
 
Good point though the 1200 is only a few £ or $ more than the 1.0 A or 1.1A, if you have a board which does 1Mhz FSB increments AND asynchronous RAM mode (VIA 133T boards for instance) with the 1200 you get to run at 117Mhz (1404) and run the ram @ 150 at stock CPU voltage.. I`ve not yet seen a 1200 POST at 1600, but the thing runs so damn cool at 1400... - Anyone got a 1200 running at 1.6?, 1.5 is the highest I`ve heard of using the pin-mod to up the voltage (125Mhz) .
 
If I could do it over again I would get a 1.1a Celery and (with the pin mod) overclock the sucker to 11*140FSB= 1540MHz. This is actually close to the limit of this chip anyways and using a FSB of over 140MHz can be harmfull/scarry to some of the components. I think it's the best compromise in CPU speed and FSB speed.
 
on my cusl2-c now with PIII 1ghz. i run fsb 150. I am guessing that I'd be able to do about the same on a tusl2-c since the components would be the same. Since I can ge tthe FSB high, what celeron would be best?
 
im guessing you run your p3 1ghz @ 1125? ( 7.5 x 150 ) because i highly doubt a p3 1ghz 100mhz fsb can reach 1.5ghz ( 10 x 150 ) 😛

hmmmmm... if you want high fsb, you could get the 1.0a, you'll have a likely chance of hitting 140+mhz fsb, maybe even 150 for 1.5ghz 🙂
 
I've got my Celeron 1.0a running at 1450mhz/1.675v rock solid. I can probably do the wire voltage trick and run at least 1500.

High core oc plus best memory bandwidth. 😀
 
You mentioned having PCI bus problems above 140 FSB. What would the PCI and AGP bus be running at if the FSB was set at 140 mhz? Anyone got a table. I'm probably going to order a 1.0A or 1.1A today and but I don't want stability problems if the bus is pushed too far out of spec.

Thanks Tates, that sounds so close to default that it shouldn't be any concern.

Looks like I'll probably go with the 1.0A... then a mobo next - probably the Abit ST6
 
moosey, I'd say get the 1.1A. The 1.2 is not "guaranteed" to hit 133MHz FSB, but the 1.1A and 1.0A are. My 1.0A would POST at up to around 1470 while my 1.1A would POST at up to around 1550 or so. I ran my 1.0A at 1333 and now my 1.1A at 1466. I went for the higher clock speed and don't worry about the FSB.

The best CPU for you would be the 1.1A. I can run my 1.0A up to 1540MHz stable, but the other components introduce corruption to the HD data. A FSB of 150MHz is pretty useless if it causes corruption in your system... better go for a FSb of 140MHz. The difference in memory bandwidth won't really matter in real-world situations anyway.
