which treadmill is the best bang per buck

I heard that... THE OUTSIDE is pretty effective...

Seriously, why walk/jog on a treadmill in side when you can be out in the fresh air.. Enjoying nature?

Landice then true.

I have the landice with the 3HP baldor motor and it never boggs down with my heavy self. Cost around 2k online if you look.. The true in the same config cost around 3k.

Costco's is selling a model for $799 (Forget brand) w/ a 2.0 HP continuous duty motor. Most of the cheap brands are rated at 'peak' hp and as such, aren't very long lasting.

I haven't been comparing prices though,so, not sure if that's in the best bang for buck or not.

DON'T GET PRO-FORM! or nordic track for that matter, they're both cheap crap that's terribly loud. I don't know what brand name their marketed under in the US, but here in Canada we have a brand called "Free Spirit" They have a 30 year warranty, 3hp motors, and are very very quiet. i work @ a Sears dealer store and we cary all three brands, free spirit outsells the other two by at least 75%, and has the lowest comeback rate too. 🙂

I'd have to disagree. I had a plastic one just like the one you linked to in a later post and my little gerbil chewed on it and it eventually failed.

If you want it to last, you have to spend a few extra dollars and get the metal wheels. They squeak, but last a lot longer. 😀
